Over the last 50 years, Ken­neth Young Cen­ter has worked hard to cre­ate health­i­er com­mu­ni­ties, but we haven’t done it alone! KYC has built mean­ing­ful rela­tion­ships with com­mu­ni­ty-mind­ed agen­cies that have ensured pos­i­tive out­comes for the peo­ple we serve together.

Stream­wood Behav­ioral Health­care Sys­tem has been an incred­i­ble part­ner to KYC and to our com­mu­ni­ties as a whole. For decades, SBHS has pro­vid­ed thought­ful and com­pre­hen­sive treat­ment to fam­i­lies in cri­sis. Our part­ner­ship ensures that KYC can rec­om­mend trust­wor­thy, time-test­ed care beyond the scope of the ser­vices we pro­vide directly.

SBHS also takes an active role in build­ing com­mu­ni­ty-based pro­gram­ming and resources that help youth of all back­grounds make healthy lifestyle choic­es. By serv­ing on the Coali­tion for Pos­i­tive Youth Devel­op­ment, SBHS leads the way in edu­cat­ing youth about sub­stance use pre­ven­tion and recov­ery, while increas­ing aware­ness and access to com­mu­ni­ty-based resources for support.

With such a strong part­ner­ship already in place, KYC is thrilled to announce that Stream­wood Behav­ioral Health­care Sys­tem will also be the 2021 Hus­tle for Health 5K Run/​Walk Pre­sent­ing Sponsor! 

The Hus­tle for Health 5K Run/​Walk is not only KYC’s largest event and fundrais­er, but this year, it also holds extra lay­ers of cel­e­bra­tion and grat­i­tude. This year’s event marks 20 years of walk­ing togeth­er in sup­port of KYC’s ser­vices. It will also be the largest cel­e­bra­tion in hon­or of KYC’s 50^th anniversary. 

With this spon­sor­ship, KYC is hon­ored to share that this gift marks $100,000 in Stream­wood Behav­ioral Health­care Sys­tem’s life­time giv­ing in sup­port of KYC’s pro­grams and ser­vices. Their gen­eros­i­ty has ensured that many local fam­i­lies have had access to ther­a­py ser­vices, cri­sis inter­ven­tions, old­er adult sup­ports, and com­mu­ni­ty-based pos­i­tive edu­ca­tion through­out the years. We are hon­ored to pro­vide these, and many more ser­vices through their ongo­ing partnership.
