August Letter from the CEO

Dear Friends of KYC,

For the first time in two years, I have the pleasure to report that the state of Illinois has a budget! Passed in the first days of July, legislators from across party lines came together to pass a budget plan for our state, overriding Governor Rauner’s veto. We’re thrilled to take one more step toward ensuring continued support of Illinois’ most vulnerable residents.

Although an important step in the right direction, much is still unknown in the financial future for the state. At the federal level, changes to the Affordable Care Act continue to be under scrutiny and debate. At KYC, we’re keeping a keen eye on both of these landscapes, recognizing that our clients are acutely impacted by changes proposed at both the federal and local level.

This month, we were proud to host our 30th Annual Golf Outing at Poplar Creek. We delayed this month’s newsletter by a few days so we could share photos from this year’s event, so please be sure to check them out. We’re so grateful for all the generosity of everyone who joined us and the countless supporters who golfed, volunteered, donated, and celebrated KYC. If you missed it, save the date for our Fashion Show: November 4th at The Seville. As friends of KYC, your presence makes every event more special and meaningful for our organization.

In the meantime, please take some time to check out the rest of the information in this month’s newsletter and keep visiting our new website. We’d love to hear what you think!

Until September,

Susan E. Cowen

President & Chief Executive Officer
