Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi’s Anti-Bullying Bill Introduction Event
Join Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi as he introduces a new anti-bullying bill on December 2nd in Schaumburg. It calls for the establishment of anti-bullying task forces to study, address, and reduce bullying in primary and secondary schools. It specifically addresses bullying of LGBTQ students.
The purpose of the December 2nd event is two-fold. First to introduce the bill. Second, and more importantly, to provide an opportunity to raise awareness and visibility of the pervasiveness of bullying in primary as well as secondary schools. All community members are invited to attend!
The format will be akin to a press conference with the Congressman, youth and LGBTQ advocates, educators, students, and others speaking about the importance of addressing bullying and harassment in school. We would be delighted if you can participate.
The event will take place on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 9:30 – 10:30am at the Kenneth Young Center’s LGBTQ+ Center located at 650 E. Algonquin Rd., Suite 104, Schaumburg, IL 60173.
Interested in attending? Please RSVP using Eventbrite.
