Thank You for Celebrating Pride Month with KYC

In June, we welcomed 700 people to two Pride Month events, Pop-Up Pride at Woodfield Mall, and Northwest Pride Fest at Trickster Cultural Center. Both events provided a safe space for LGBTQ+ youth and community members to show up as their authentic selves.

During Pop-Up Pride (June 15, 2024), KYC highlighted services and resources we offer to the community, especially featuring our LGBTQ+ Center Programming, like our Q Closet, LGBTQ-focused Youth and Young Adult Nights, and our Rainbow Room Youth Advisory Council. We also offered free face painting, a photo booth, and family fun for mall patrons.

During Northwest Pride Fest (June 29, 2024), a collaboration between KYC and Trickster Cultural Center, we amplified local queer-owned businesses and gave them a platform to promote their goods and services. We also had live music from a local youth band (School of Rock) and food and beverages from local food vendors. This event was a perfect closing to the end of Pride Month.
