2022 Hus­tle for Health 5K Run/​Walk

The 21^st Annu­al Hus­tle for Health 5K Run/​Walk will be a col­or­ful cel­e­bra­tion of our vibrant com­mu­ni­ties. Join us for a fun col­or run event and a pris­mat­ic dis­play of empow­er­ment of the health­i­er com­mu­ni­ties we build together.

The Hus­tle for Health is KYC’s sig­na­ture event and largest annu­al fundrais­er. All are wel­come to cel­e­brate the health of our com­mu­ni­ties through this excit­ing event. We are offer­ing both vir­tu­al and in-per­son ways to par­tic­i­pate, so that you can choose the option that works best for you!

Join the Cel­e­bra­tion at Busse Woods

This year, the Hus­tle for Health will be a col­or­ful fun run event! Par­tic­i­pants can choose to run through col­or­ful dye as a way to cel­e­brate the vibran­cy of our com­mu­ni­ties. (Look­ing to skip the dye? We’ve got options for you too.) Check out our FAQs to get the scoop on the col­or­ful cel­e­bra­tion and pick up some tips to enjoy the event safely.

Our in-per­son event will kick off at 10AM (reg­is­tra­tion will open at 9AM) from Grove 27, on the south­east side of Busse Woods in Elk Grove Vil­lage, IL. Whether you run, walk, or roll with us, we look for­ward to a beau­ti­ful day of cel­e­brat­ing the work we do together.

Hon­or­ing the Ori­gins of Col­or­ful Runs

Col­or Runs have become a pop­u­lar cul­tur­al phe­nom­e­na across the Unit­ed States for years, but their ori­gins come from the Hin­du tra­di­tion of Holi, a cel­e­bra­tion of spring and love. This cel­e­bra­tion is one of inclu­siv­i­ty and joy. On the day of Holi, peo­ple of all cul­tures, back­grounds, and iden­ti­ties unite in a shared expe­ri­ence of toss­ing col­or­ful dyes through­out the day. The throw­ing of the dyes is just one part of the Holi fes­ti­val, and KYC is proud to add this inclu­sive and empow­er­ing ele­ment to this year’s 5K Run/​Walk cel­e­bra­tion. Join Vir­tu­al­ly from Your Favorite Walk­ing Path

Enjoy a tru­ly per­son­al­ized 5K expe­ri­ence by join­ing in the cel­e­bra­tion vir­tu­al­ly! Head out on your favorite local walk­ing path on the sched­ule that works best for you. If a tread­mill is more your thing, that works too! How­ev­er ou choose to cel­e­brate, don’t for­get to sport your col­or­ful gear in sup­port of KYC’s pro­grams, and take a self­ie or even a short video to send our way.
