ADHD: From Basics to Tips, Hacks & Treatment
Presenter Cheri DeMoss MA, LCPC, CADC, NCADCII, MAC, NCRS, CAADC, will be holding a training on ADHD and Substance Abuse Disorders along with techniques to support these clients at Kenneth Young Center’s Elk Grove Village office.
Objectives for this training will include:
- Learn the difference between alcoholism, personality disorder and dysfunction
- Understand how client’s adult choices are influenced by their parent’s behaviors
- Recognize the influences, similarities, and differences that create the fabric of the client’s life
- Learn how to help client’s make mindful choices
- Handling emotional dysregulation and rejection sensitivity as a first priority
- Understand how ADHD impacts ALL areas of a client’s life.
- How to separate feelings from reactions in order to find tips that work for clients

Presenter Biography
Cheri DeMoss is founder and director of Empowering Options Counseling Innovations specializing in educational therapy. Over the past 30 years Cheri has designed and presented training seminars for both National and State wide conferences as well as corporate and small businesses. Cheri’s combines an innovative and insightful approach with a energetic and stimulating presentation manner to provide participants with clear information and effective techniques they can implement immediately. She creates a shame-free and emotionally safe environment where individuals learn and develop a passion for the subject.
In addition to providing individual, group and couple counseling, Cheri teaches adult education, relationship classes, and designs and presents seminars and workshops on innumerable topics. This experience has given her exceptional skills in motivating attendees. Cheri has an extremely unique ability to engage audiences and clients alike with a manner that enables them think, feel, and experience the topic.
