Together We Heal
According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States and In the past year the pandemic has taken our everyday challenges and put them under a magnifying glass. This challenge was created with the goal of pushing ourselves to challenge the stigma behind suicide and come together to heal ourselves and our community.
For each task you complete during the 30 days, you will receive points! Each time you complete a task you gain those points. For example, if you get 8 hours of sleep every day for a week you can gain 175 (25 x 7 =175) points for that 25 point task. You can pick and choose which tasks work for you (you don’t have to do everything, just what works for your own life), you can choose to switch it up every week or keep your self-care practices the same every week.
One of the tasks breaks down 48,000 steps in 4 weeks to represent the 48,000 Americans that die by suicide each year.
Each participant will fill out their own log to track the amount of points they gain throughout the 30 days. You can use the tracker we provide or track with your own device or journal. At the end of the 30 day the logs will be submitted through a Google form and the points will be counted.
The 3 participants with the most points will receive a prize at our May 22nd “Lights of Resilience” event!
Participants are encouraged to take photos throughout the 30 days and post to social media! (Tag us @cpyd.coalition and use the hashtag #TogetherWeHeal)
