Creating Community Connections

As we wrap up our 50th year of service to the community, at a time unlike any other, our commitment to the more than 15,000 children, adults, seniors, and families we serve has never been stronger – and we’re able to answer that call because of supporters like you.

Your support of our programs helps us do more. Please know that a gift of any size is greatly appreciated and truly saves lives each and every day through KYC. Lives like Amelia’s.

Amelia Family Picture

The Lopez Family first heard of KYC when their grandmother, Marie, was transitioning home from her hip replacement and needed Home Delivered Meals while she recovered. Marie’s daughter, Amelia, juggles working full-time with caregiving for her elderly mother and two children. Just days before she found KYC, Amelia had drafted her resignation letter. Unable to pay for in-home care for her mother on her own, she felt that the only cost-effective way to provide the care her mother needed would be to sacrifice a job she loved. She was at her wit’s end trying to balance her time and finances to properly care for her mom without jeopardizing the needs of her children and herself.

Amelia connected with KYC’s Caregiver Support Services, which opened the door for her to secure the care her mother needed, allowing her to keep her job to provide for her family. In talking with our social worker, she realized she needed to get help with her own needs so she could better support her loved ones. Amelia talks with her therapist weekly, while her kids participate in the Youth Advisory Council with KYC’s Community Collaboration Team.

Your gift helps Amelia and thousands of others to find hope, support, and the chance to thrive. Please make your gift below.

Thank you for making their successes possible and for the many ways you brighten our community during this season of giving.
