LGBTQ+ Cen­ter

KYC’s LGBTQ+ Youth and Young Adult Cen­ter is a safe space for youth and allies to learn about self-expres­­sion and iden­ti­ty, while build­ing strong inter­per­son­al con­nec­tions with oth­er LGBTQ+ youth (11−17) and young adults (18−24). With events through­out the month, our LGBTQ+ Cen­ter pro­vides enter­tain­ment, edu­ca­tion­al oppor­tu­ni­ties, and social activ­i­ties. Teens and young adults can come to enjoy cre­ative arts, movie or board game nights, yoga/​meditation, com­mu­ni­ty ser­vice activ­i­ties, and more. These events pro­vide learn­ing oppor­tu­ni­ties about inclu­sive, pos­i­tive, healthy behav­iors, and oppor­tu­ni­ties to col­lab­o­rate on lead­er­ship activ­i­ties. Designed with the feed­back pro­vid­ed by the LGBTQ+ ther­a­peu­tic group that was con­duct­ed at Ken­neth Young Cen­ter, the LGBTQ+ Cen­ter is focused on youth-led, youth-empow­ered programming.
